What area does Jigsaw (SouthEast) cover?
Jigsaw provides services across Surrey and bordering towns, with offices in East Grinstead and Grief Support Groups in Reigate, East Grinstead, Cheam and Guildford.
Do you provide services outside of the above areas?
No, but do please give us a call if you are not sure if we cover your area, or are outside of the South East, we can always provide advice and guidance in order to signpost you to other organisations.
Do you provide services at your offices?
No, our offices are our administrative centre only but please do give us a call on 01342 313895 if you would like to arrange a home or school visit from us.
Is there a charge for your services?
No, we are a registered charity and there is no charge to children or families. However as a charity we always welcome donations and fundraising support.
Where do you hold the Jigsaw (SouthEast) Grief Support Groups?
We hold groups several times a year in Reigate, East Grinstead, Cheam and Guildford. The groups run over six weeks, usually on a Thursday evening plus one Saturday.
Can you tell me a little more about the groups?
The groups run by staff and volunteers, aim to give children, young adults and their parents/careers between the ages of 5 and 18, a safe environment in which to meet others in a similar situation, as well as to provide an opportunity for sharing memories, exploring feelings and asking questions. The sessions are activity based, such as creating memory boxes, and we stress the value of taking part. Some of the activities take place in peer groups and others in family groups.
Why can’t children and young people attend on their own?
We place a lot of value on the child or children attending with an adult. The adults will be in a separate room but will do many of the same activities as the children and young people. This provides an opportunity for dialogue outside of the groups which leads to improved communication, understanding and relationships at home.
Do we need to attend all sessions?
Yes if you can, there are more likely to be positive benefits if all sessions are attended, especially the Saturday, our experience shows this to be the case when the full programme is completed.

I am currently studying for a counselling qualification, do you offer work placements?
No, due to the size of Jigsaw (South East) and the nature of our work we are not able to offer placements that would count towards your required experience. You may wish to consider volunteering for Jigsaw (South East) to gain experience working with children and young people but this would not be on a formal basis.
