Jigsaw South East delivers termly online information sessions to enable both professionals and parents/carers to support bereaved children and young people, as well as those facing the death of a loved one.
These sessions are open to all professionals and parents/carers across the South East and are not limited to those currently receiving support from Jigsaw South East.
Professionals
Our Professional Information Sessions are free online webinars designed to introduce key aspects of childhood and adolescent grief. These sessions are ideal for professionals who want to build their awareness and understanding of how bereavement can affect children and young people.
We offer a range of topics throughout the year, allowing new professionals to access introductory content while also providing returning attendees with opportunities to deepen their knowledge over time.
Parent/carers
We also offer free online information sessions for parents and carers supporting a grieving child or young person. These sessions are designed to provide insight into how bereavement can affect children’s behaviour, emotions, and development, along with practical ways to support them.
As well as guidance and reassurance, these sessions help parents and carers understand that they are not alone in supporting a child through grief.
Our information sessions are not intended to replace full bereavement training. Instead, they provide a clear overview of key themes, along with practical guidance and signposting to useful resources. They also include updates on local support available through Jigsaw South East and how professionals can engage with our services.
Each session includes an opportunity to ask questions directly to one of our experienced Grief Support Workers.
