Specialist grief and bereavement training for professionals working with children and young people.
Our training is designed for professionals across education, health, social care, and the voluntary sector who support children and young people experiencing grief and loss. It provides practical tools, increased confidence, and a clear understanding of how bereavement can impact behaviour, learning, and wellbeing.
We also offer opportunities to use our specialist Jigsaw South East resources and creative approaches to support grief work in practice.

About Our Training
Our Professionals’ Training is structured to build both knowledge and practical skills in supporting bereaved children and young people.
Whether you are working in a school, healthcare setting, or community organisation, our training helps you respond appropriately, confidently, and compassionately when a child is facing or coping with or the death of a loved one.
Current Training Modules

This module also includes the opportunity to use our Jigsaw South East branded resources and journals.
Module One (3 hours)
This training introduces key ideas in childhood grief and helps professionals confidently support bereaved children and young people in schools and community settings, while recognising risk factors and the importance of self-care.
Module Two (3 hours)
This training builds further understanding of childhood bereavement, including levels of need and identifying those who may need extra support. It explores healthy grieving and practical approaches to individual and group support.
Future training modules in development:
- Developing a Whole School Bereavement Policy. This training builds on our experience of an earlier pilot programme and can also be supplemented by a further consultation meeting after the on-line training. Coming soon.
- Understanding and Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Young People’s Grief and Bereavement
- Understanding and Supporting Children and Young People Following a Traumatic Death (death by suicide, accident etc)
- Understanding Different Cultural and Religious Expectations around Death and Dying and How to Support Children and Young People
