Buddy volunteers required

Support children and young people that have recently been bereaved by becoming a Buddy in the Guildford or Woking area.
At Jigsaw (South East) we run Grief Support Groups over a period of seven weeks in the Spring and Autumn to support families that have lost a loved one.
As a Buddy you will be helping children and young people work through their grief with different events ranging from craft based activities to a Balloon Release, a Candlelit Ceremony and the making of Memory Boxes.
You will be assisting qualified Grief Support Workers at the sessions, befriending the children and generally helping with the smooth running of the sessions.
You are not required to have any formal qualifications or to have experience with bereavement, however it is important to have an ability to interact with children, to be able to empathise, to be a good listener, to work in a team and to participate in the events. It would be useful to have your own transport. You need to be age 18+
Volunteers will be accepted subject to attending our free training sessions in June 2015 and DBS checking.
The Groups run in the Guildford or Woking area, in the evenings, once a week for 7 sessions, plus a daytime Saturday session.
