Children’s Mental Health In Focus

One in eight children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition but just 10% of the mental health budget is  spent on them despite children making up 20% of the population. In February, Jigsaw (South East) is supporting Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week.

According to new research published by Place2Be and the National Association of Headteacher’s, there has been a significant rise in the number of school based counsellors. Services have almost doubled since 2016 and schools are increasingly stretched and unable to meet the growing needs of children and young people in their care. Read the full report here.
