“I won’t lie, this is getting harder and harder. I’m not a regular runner, haven’t trained for this but I’m not giving up”.

An East Grinstead man is running 10 treadmill marathons in as many days, to raise vital funds for our child bereavement charity, following the collapse of fundraising income due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Doug Bewley began his epic challenge on Sunday 26th April, the day he was due to run the London Marathon for Jigsaw (South East). He joined the #TwoPointSixChallenge, created by the organisers of the Marathon, and aims to raise £2620 for the charity.

Mr Bewley, 35, a married father of four-year-old twin boys, is the Director of a small business Unique Technical Solutions, which has also been impacted by the lockdown. He said: “Jigsaw does amazing work, and with the number of deaths due to Covid-19 rising dramatically, sadly more children and families will need their support. This is the least I could do, and I’m asking you all if you can do a 2.6 Challenge to help them too?”.

A serial fundraiser for the charity, last year Mr Bewley ran the Brighton Marathon and cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End for Jigsaw (South East).
