Fundraising Stars
Despite the pandemic and the pause on life as we know it, many people have gone the extra mile to fundraise, from home, for our child bereavement charity.
We thank everyone who has and is supporting us through this time, when our community fundraising has been halted and the need for our services has increased. Some of you have asked for birthday donations to our charity, rather than presents, others have set up regular donations to us and several have given us what they would have spent on transport costs to and/or lunch at work. We appreciate everything you are doing to help.
It is Small Charity Week 2020, which celebrates and raises awareness of the essential work of the UK’s small charity sector and their invaluable contribution to the lives of millions of individuals, communities and causes across the UK and the rest of the world. Jigsaw (South East) is a small charity serving the communities of Surrey, West Sussex and parts of Kent. Below we share two recent stories from fundraisers who are helping us to continue our work with bereaved children, young people and their families and those preparing for loss.
The words in the quote are from Rob Marsh, otherwise known as Speed Quiz Rob. Recognising the need to support small charities at this critical time, Rob offered to fundraise for us in June. Every Sunday evening he hosts a virtual pub quiz and £1 from each ticket sale is donated to us.
However, after the first two successful sessions Rob has decided to continue to support Jigsaw (South East) and we could not be more grateful. A huge thank you to Rob and to all the teams and individuals who have generously donated their winnings along the way.
Sew Amazing! We want to say a huge thank you to Sarah Marchant who has been tirelessly making face masks for family and friends and asking only for donations to our Emergency Appeal in return.
In a matter of weeks, Sarah has raised over £400 for Jigsaw. On behalf of all the the children and families we are supporting at this difficult time, we thank Sarah so much for her amazing efforts.
