Meet the runners: Brighton Marathon 2022

Meet the Brighton Marathon runners!

Did you know that this weekend marks the 12th Brighton Marathon? Each year over 12,000 runners pound the streets of Brighton, starting at Preston Park, whizzing past miles of seafront and crossing the finishing line at the iconic Brighton Pier 26.2 miles later.

This year we’re delighted to have three incredible runners preparing to take on the Brighton Marathon and helping to raise vital funds for Jigsaw (South East).

Let’s find out a little more about them:

Meet Tim Harbor

If you think Tim looks familiar it might be because he’s your local postman. Tim, 49, from East Grinstead wanted to set himself a challenge in his 50th year and what a challenge to set! After following a three-month training plan, he says he is ‘looking forward to finally starting the race, and of course finishing!’

You can sponsor Tim here.

Meet Tamsin and Nick Haste

A Husband and Wife from East Grinstead, who will be running the marathon together this year. They are the parents of three young children who we’re sure will be cheering them on this weekend.

Nick says “Whilst I have always played sport, I only started running longer distances 4 years ago to stay fit. We are both members of East Grinstead Runners, which is a great club to be part of, and the club and its people have helped us both to improve our running. Last year, we both completed the Brighton Marathon but this year we are planning to run it together”.

Tamsin is hoping to improve on her running time from last September and has used the Hal Higden app to train, which includes 5 x running a week plus 1 x CrossFit (spin classes).

Tamsin says they chose to raise money for Jigsaw (South East) as the charity has supported many families they know in the local area.

You can sponsor Nick and Tamsin here.

All runners agree that the last few miles will be the biggest challenge! We wish them all the best of luck with the race this weekend and are very grateful for their amazing fundraising efforts.

Feeling inspired?
