Mims Davies MP Visits Jigsaw Team After Facilitating £10,000 Donation From South East Water

Members of the Jigsaw (South East) team were delighted to welcome Mims Davies MP to their Head Office this week, to hear about their impact in the community and how £10,000 donation will help us to support local families coping with or facing the death of a loved one.

A silver lining after storm Eunice

The visit came about after Jigsaw was recently nominated by East Grinstead residents to receive a £10,000 donation from South East Water. The money was given as a thank you for its customers’ patience and understanding following water supply problems in February after power issues caused by Storm Eunice. Mims Davies MP and representatives from several local organisations helped select twenty one organisations for people to choose from, of which Jigsaw came third.

During the visit a number of the Jigsaw Team were in attendance, including Charity Director, Catherine Hodgson and Chair of Trustees, Cecilia Hughes. They were keen to explain more about the vital work of the charity, which this year alone has supported over 420 families living in Surrey, Mid Sussex, Crawley, West Kent and beyond.

Mims said:

It was a pleasure to meet with the staff and volunteers at Jigsaw. From talking with them it was evident why this very caring and supportive charity have made such a difference to so many young lives. This boost of funds will allow them to help more young people recover from the traumatic childhood experience of losing a loved one.  I’m so pleased the people of East Grinstead voted for this brilliant charity and want to thank South East Water for donating over £10,000 via their community fund which was made available following the local impact of Storm Eunice. Many other local charities will be benefitting due to this partnership with South East Water, which will really boost them as we push to recover from covid and its impact on both businesses and charity.

Catherine Hodgson, Jigsaw (South East) Director said:

It was a pleasure to welcome Mims to our Head Office today and to have the opportunity to thank her for nominating Jigsaw for such a significant donation which will help us to continue providing vital support to children and young people who have experienced bereavement or who are facing the death of a loved one. These funds are going to really make a difference to our plans and we are delighted to be part of this positive outcome and be able to assist more young people at their time of need.

To all East Grinstead residents who voted for Jigsaw to receive a share of the generous donation from South East Water, thank you so much for your incredible support.
