Remarkable running club raises £1400 at the EG10K!
Supporters cheered as determined runners pounded along the Worth Way at the annual East Grinstead 10K race last October! Now in its 12th year, the race is dedicated to the memory of Andy Ripley OBE, English rugby union international, an active East Grinstead sportsman and former member of both EGAC and EGTC, who died from prostate cancer in 2010.
This year was extra special for Jigsaw (South East) as the fantastic team from East Grinstead Runners club, who were running the event for the first time this year, chose us to be one of three charities the event raised money for. We were elated to receive an incredible donation of £1400!
The vital funds raised will help us to support local children and young people through the death of a loved one. As a child, losing a loved one can be a devastating and life changing experience. Our Preparing for Loss and Grief Support Services help children to cope, manage their grief, and start to rebuild their lives, which simply wouldn’t be possible without the support of organisations like East Grinstead Runners.
Jim Dorrington, East Grinstead Runners Club Chairman said:
We’ve been delighted to support Jigsaw throughout this year being our club’s chosen charity. The outstanding work they do is simply incredible and it’s our privilege to be able to help raise some funds to aid them continuing to do so.
The East Grinstead 10k was a great success and some of the crossover values on display of supporting, encouraging and being there for each other provides a perfect match between East Grinstead Runners and Jigsaw.
We look forward to continuing to help the Jigsaw team in the future. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re amazing.
Fundraising Coordinator Sophie and Jigsaw volunteers Neil and Alison were in attendance on the day to help with bag drop and dish out medals to all the incredible runners as they completed the course.

We are so incredibly grateful for the amazing ongoing support from East Grinstead Runners! It was a brilliant community event to be part of and great to see runners of all abilities reach the finish line and proudly collect their medals. I’m delighted that the race was such a fantastic success once again!
An enormous thank you to all at EG Runners and everyone who ran, you are helping us to be there for every child and young person who needs our support.
