Tonbridge Grammar Girls A* Volunteering at Hever

They registered, they marshalled, they handed out numbers and shouted support for the individuals bravely battling the elements to compete in the socially distanced Hever Castle Triathlon. Sixty teenagers from Tonbridge Grammar School turned out for us, in what was a cold but exhilarating weekend.
This was our first volunteering opportunity in 10 months, and we were overwhelmed by the support we received from the community. It was wonderful to revive our partnership with the Castle Triathlon Series, where we provide volunteers in return for donations.
Jigsaw (South East)’s Fundraising lead, Sophie Bewley, coordinated the team of young helpers.
“I am so proud to have been part of the Castle Triathlon Series crew team this weekend. This was our first physical fundraising event in almost a year, due to the impact of COVID-19. It was great to have had the opportunity to get out there and raise vital funds and we send a huge thanks to the sixty-plus 16 and 17-year-old girls from Tonbridge Grammar, who gave up a weekend to help our child bereavement charity”.
Much of Jigsaw (South East)’s community fundraising is still on hold due to the ongoing pandemic, but our vital work continues. Find out ways you can support us from home here.
