Tremendous Trekkers Raise Thousands For Bereaved Children!

Isle of Wight Challenge

When you picture the Isle of Wight, it might conjure up visions of a relaxing, sunshine-filled seaside holiday. This was certainly not the case for siblings Annie and Ali Gray, who recently took on the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge alongside fellow hiking team members Chris and Claire! They tirelessly trekked 106km in just two days, taking in the breath-taking scenery as they went, raising almost £7500 for Jigsaw (South East), in memory of their cousin Jenny.

Annie explains:

Jigsaw (South East) have offered invaluable support to our cousin’s family. In March last year our cousin Jenny sadly died following a tragic accident. Jenny was a fantastic mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and granddaughter and leaves behind a legacy in her gorgeous family. Jenny was an integral part of the Gray family, an organiser, do-er, team leader and fun maker, she is hugely missed and in our thoughts every day.

We want to remember Jenny for the energy, fun and happiness she brought us all. We also want to ensure that families get the support they need in times of bereavement and sickness.

After completing the epic challenge, Annie said:

I am pleased to announce that we made it around more or less in one piece! I think it’s fair to say it was the hardest physical and mental challenge any of us have embarked on, but 100% worth it to see the sponsorship go to such a fantastic charity, so close to our hearts.

All involved claimed their well-deserved medal including adorable pup Scout, who also completed the incredible challenge.

Without the support of fantastic fundraisers like Annie and Ali, our service simply wouldn’t be possible. We can’t thank them enough for their incredible efforts, it will help us to support more children and young people through their bereavement journey.
