An introduction to supporting bereaved children and young people through transition and change

Jigsaw South East run termly online information sessions to help professionals support bereaved children and young people and those facing the death of a loved one. Our next session is due to take place on Tuesday 12th May 2026 from 15.45 – 16.45.

This session is aimed at teachers, school staff, support workers and any other professional working directly with children and young people who have been affected by grief. This short presentation will cover;

  • How to support primary aged children through the change of moving up a year group, changing teacher , class room, possible new class mates and changes in expectations
  • How to support a year 6 pupil through the transition into secondary school
  • How to support a young person through moving to college/ university
  • How to support a child/ young person with changes in routine and home life
