Beachy Head Marathon

Beachy Head Marathon
The start line and first (of many) hills

Dedicated Jigsaw (South East) team gets in training for one of the toughest off-road marathons in the UK through the South Downs National Park.

The Beachy Head Marathon is one of the toughest off-road marathons in the UK. Formerly known as the Seven Sisters Marathon, it follows a scenic and challenging route through the South Downs National Park.

On Sunday 27th October at 9am, Sarah Muir, Gill Burke and Catherine O’Donoghue will put on their running shoes and prepare to complete this mammoth task in aid of Jigsaw (South East) – a family bereavement charity.

Just click here (http://tinyurl.com/9ufprrg) to see how many hills Jigsaw’s Mighty Marathon Off-Roaders will face.

During the past year, this charity – like so many other small charities – has started to buckle under the financial strain brought about by the ongoing economic climate and the increasing scarcity of funds.

The death of a loved one is devastating but for children in particular it may be overwhelming. Jigsaw (South East) provides families and individual young people with the support that will enable them to develop strategies for coping whilst also meeting others who have had similar experiences.

It makes no charge to grieving families or to schools and is dependent upon donations and successful funding bids.

By donating just a few pounds, you will not only help Jigsaw to continue supporting bereaved children and their families, you will also provide a much-needed boost to these three brave runners who are putting their bodies on the line for such a good cause. Dig deep!
