Doug digs deep to run Brighton Marathon for Jigsaw

Until last week Doug Bewley was happy with his decision not to take part in the Brighton Marathon. He had signed up for the event last autumn, but work commitments meant training was on his wish list, not a reality.
To the surprise of his family and friends, a few days ago Doug announced he had changed his mind and on Sunday he will be running the 26.2 miles course. He said: “I’m now seeing it as a challenge of mental toughness. The only way I’m going to complete the course is knowing I’ll be letting people down if I fail to finish.
“Give me a reason to keep running when my legs feel like they are going to explode and sponsor me to help raise money for Jigsaw,” Doug appealed.
The plucky father of two will be joining Natalie Moon, Adam Hinds and Nicola Bishop, who are all raising funds for Jigsaw (South East). The charity supports bereaved children and young people as well as those facing the death of a loved one through serious illness.
