Particularly aimed at schools, this course had been developed in response to frequent requests. When a child experiences a significant bereavement school is often the one part of their life that remains relatively stable. Formalising your approach into a robust policy or procedural guide can mean that staff are prepared and able to offer appropriate support to pupils.
This course aims to
- Explore and evaluate your current practices, identifying sources of support to enable you to build on existing strengths.
- Share best practice and give examples of different approaches
- Provide a framework for developing a structured response to bereavement that is practicable within your organisation
Who should attend?
Anyone working with young people in social care, health and education including youth workers, clergy, emergency services, funeral directors and counsellors.
